Move Over Turkey! Santa Is Coming To Town

November 26, 2017

As the lights and the music start to play, the excitement around the house begins to rise. Each one of my kids are very different. They each have their own likes, and dislikes, but I can promise that they all agree that it's an amazing time of year.
Sometimes, as a parent, I wonder if it is worth all the work. I can tell you that each light, every cookie, and all the time spent is defiantly WORTH IT for me. Last year my micro preemie baby girl had to spend the holiday season still in NICU. With that came a very stressed out and busy set of parents. We just could not get it all done. Do please understand, I am insane!!! I love Christmas! My home would make you look around for Elves, possibly even have you thinking you might run into Santa on the way down the hall. With each year, the collection grows even larger.
Last year, we could only muster up the energy and time to do the basics. Not a signal light got hung, no trip into the woods to find the perfect tree, just a fake pre-lite modest tree was set up. I never knew what all that crazy Christmas really did for my family. It took our normal life and transformed it into a magical place that makes you smile and feel a sense of happiness. Just the simple act of driving in the yard gave you that warm happy holiday feeling. Last year we missed a lot of that. Every one of us still enjoyed what we did have, just in the end you could tell something was missing. That will not happen this year! Just like many of you, we are the Super Parents!! There will be lights hanging EVERYWHERE. There will be cookies and sweets of every kind. My kids will grow up remembering the amazing magic that is Christmas at our house.
As we Super Parents fly around in our invisible cape, remember to take a moment for yourself! Stop and smell the tree, enjoy what you have done!
Each one of our homes will be different. As families, we all have our own traditions this time of year. That is what makes us all perfect! Enjoy the start to the season. Spend time with the ones you love. Enjoy the traditions that your family has, you never know when those precious memories will be able to be made again.
