Who is your Super Hero?

By I found mine right beside me! October 31, 2017

As the month of October comes to an end, we start into November, the month of Thanksgiving.  I would like to share a little part of my personal story.

The story was sparked this morning by one of those memories that pop-up on your Facebook page.

One year ago today my husband and I where at the hospital with our daughter.  She had been there for 41 days at that point.  Still unsure when we could take her home, if ever.  We where very worried for our little girl, but felt blessed to have been able to get to love her for each of those days.  Falon, our daughter, had fought her way into this world during only her 25th week of gestation.  This amazing ball of fire shocked us all weighing in at just 1lb 12ozs.

This morning while checking for any updated events to list in the calendar, my memories showed up.  There was a picture of our angel with a white cape laying on her back.  The cape had a pink diamond and a rhinestone F on it.  My Husband and I had made it for her that morning.  That cape to us was the perfect Halloween costume.  Super Falon our little hero.  Defeating all odds with each beat of her heart.  Right now she is just over a year old with no major heath issues.  A little small but nothing to be concerned with, her personality more than makes up for it!

She was not our only Hero in our lives that year.  Our two older boys at that point they where 9 and 11.

Living threw two rounds of IVF, the first one failing when the babies did not take hold, parents working a full time job each, a Mom that had many hard or bed ridden days during the short pregnancy, now a baby sister that they did not know if she would live long enough for them to get a chance to hold her, and going to school.  These two amazing boys held it all together!

My children are my Heroes!  Tonight when they dress up Falon will be a little Frog, the older boys will be Batman, the other an Archer.  In my heart they don't need costumes.  They are already Super Heroes!

As the month of Thanksgiving starts I remind you to take a few moments to look at your memories.  If it is Facebook, old pictures, or just a passing thought in your mind.  Take the time to stop and really see who your children are, who they are growing into, and how far they have come.

Being Halloween today the world will see our children dressed up.  They will range from the cutest Princess to the scariest Goblin.  Standing close by will be us, watching our little trolls, the Super Heroes of our hearts, smiling and laughing as they announce themselves at each door with an open bag and the old saying "Trick or Treat".

I say "Thank You" to my little Heroes for being so strong and making our lives complete.

Send me pictures of your Heroes if you don't mind them being posted on the website or/and in a e-newsletter at denisemayes@macaronikid.com.  I would love to share some of the places you went to and things you guys did on Halloween Eve 2017!!!
